Melrose Avenue, the heart of Hollywood’s fashion district was a hotspot for independent businesses prior to the city being shut down due to inadequate local government response to the pandemic.

However, Hoolipack members Leelan and Florence the Infinite saw an opportunity to unite the community in a way that was reminiscent of  the “good ol days.”

On a warm July afternoon, hundreds of people flocked a wide alleyway on Melrose Avenue the walls that surrounded it were covered in murals of Kobe Bryant, George Floyd, and Mac Miller.

A truly ideal setting for the second edition of That’s Vintage hosted by hip hop collective Hoolipack in collaboration with over 25 local artists and brands.

Leelan said, “I know how it can look high class, but in reality its just people hustling,” and the hustle never stops with the duo. The first attempt at a second That’s Vintage event was allegedly canceled due to an overwhelming wave of concern, but Hoolipack put their toes to the pavement and didn’t let fear dictate their destiny.

That’s Vintage is an event centered on providing a platform for artists and small companies so there was no way Hoolipack was going to let the momentum die.

One brand which could be considered an essential business is KushKit whose booth was located nearest the stage. Its eccentric CEO, a young female rapper by the name of 2Tai also performed at the festival.

After getting pulled over by two female officers, they advised 2Tai to keep her “stuff”  in one place, so she went to the store, bought some boxes, and that’s how KushKit came to be.

“Have a purpose for your rapping” she said The energetic hustler or should I say DIVA is expecting to drop hot new singles for men and ladies in the coming months, and her product is growing to provide edibles, tee shirts, incense, and even custom AirForces!

The event attracted many people who were looking for a distraction from all the uncertainty today, and what they found was a hub of creativity, commerce, and support. The Idea that Hoolipack endorses as a representation of hooligans all over the world helps bring hope that one day things might get close to being normal again.
