Sham1016 – Foul Play

Written By : Jess Lynn

Sham1016 has returned and comes out with a victory, bringing another crowd-pleasing body of work titled Foul Play. This time around he delivers 10 solid tracks that continue to acknowledge and showcase his clever wordplay along with warm, yet fly beats that compliment each unique track. Artwork done by Sham1016 himself, fully mixed by the ultra talented Cristal Viramontes and produced by several talented producers, this project communicates every ounce of dedication, perseverance and pure talent that is sure to be playlist must-have this up coming summer.

Throughout the duration of his album rollout, the artist was faced with a few obstacles that would typically discourage the average artist as they approach the final steps of an album release. However in Sham1016’s case, he decided to turn each challenge into an opportunity to push through and elevate. With the project being removed unexpectedly from streaming services shortly after it’s initial release, he decided to create an app with the album title to release the project on his own, allowing his fans and supporters to enjoy his product on his very own platform. If that isn’t dedication, we don’t know what is.

Each track on the album surely bring a different vibe that uniquely gel together to showcase his limitless artistry. Get Like Me featuring Griff Tyler has a groovy feel to it that still moves with the rhythmic west coast sound, while Roll the Dice featuring Fih, Kiilynn and the Ichiban Don delivers a soft, sultry vibe. He even includes a unique track that is actually a beautiful poem titled Big Rube Speaks. As you press play to the wonderful body of work, it’s more than safe to say that you will enjoy every second just as much as we did, as you connect with each track in a real way through each melody and lyric given, no questions asked.
