At the tender age of 7, a young Trent Dupri was introduced to rap from riding with his father
listening to 2pac and other various west coast artists. He felt the passion and the exciting feeling
he got from listening to hip hop and watching videos on the late channel called The Box while
living with his grandmother. As time passed on, he started to experiment, writing verses to his
favorite artists. By middle school and high school, he was determined to take music seriously as
a career. He went to his first studio session 2011. Throughout his teens, Trent Dupri rapped with
close friends David Melody, Frank Mack, Dolla and others before releasing his debut
mixtape “Focus On Real Dreams” that went gold on Datpiff.com. He later formed MSMG
(Montfort Street Music Group) and finally started hitting the main stage in 2018 in Sacramento
with Fat Joe, Nelly, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and doing multiple LA shows with the legendary
Suga Free.
