The Corner Store—released in July has L.A dancing and having a good time. The perfect amount of fun for summer 2021. The best way to describe the album to others so quickly is what a vibe!
Dezzie Gee has witty lyrics that have you cracking a few laughs while dancing to it.
The album is bopping from start to finish. Listeners can hear how much time, effort and FUN Dezzie Gee had while creating The Corner Store.
Each of his features brought their magic and delivered in their verses. All features knew the assignment and rocked with Gee’s vision to his album. It also brings out the variety of sounds Gee and all his features can bring to the table.
The album serves as a time machine by taking listeners back to some of what a lot of 25+ year-olds consider the good old days to music. He brings up the iconic 2009 New Boyz “You’re a jerk”, and 2003 Kevin Lyttle’s single, “Turn me on”.
“Where did you get that?! The corner store?” Is already an iconic saying. After listening to the album the first time all I kept saying was “Where did you get that?! The corner store?” It’s one of those music stamps that as soon as you hear it, people are going to know the song is going to be a hit.
I cannot stress this enough of how badass this album was. From start to finish, the whole album is a must listen!
